I especially searched for japanese and did not necessarily another Honda

Since my previous car was a total loss, I bought a Mazda 323. I especially searched for japanese and did not necessarily another Honda (although it was a fine car)

Mazda 323 1.5 GLX Fastb. does score much better on luxury and comfort. Here is a small list of equipment;
- Air conditioning
- cruise control (built John GoldCruise AP-300)
- CV remote (built, this was not standard weird enough)
- fog lights front / rear
- electric windows
- folding rear seat and passenger seat
- front lots of pockets!
- Adjustable driver's seat with three buttons (seat height, length)

Compared to my Honda is that progress on almost everything.

This car has 88 horsepower and, in theory, would I notice compared to the Honda (114 hp) at lower speeds to note indeed, but once above 120 km I dare to call the Mazda even spicier. (160 km and no full throttle!) The weight of each car is 1050 kg, so it's not in him.

Minuses
- The consumption is much higher. Factory Declaration of 1 to 14, I have not taken off the highway, the Honda took it easy.

- The Mazda moves on long stretches of road slightly to the right, this seems to have been accepted at Mazda. Moreover, it is not annoyance.

- With my height 1.99 m, it is often rough it in cars. The Honda I was low, but I could stretch my left foot (no sloping plateau) in the Mazda is that plateau there. The extensive 'tuning' on the chair makes a lot of good.

3 months later and 3000 km. So far not had any technical problems, on the contrary! That was my Honda or otherwise (although that little things were) Only visit was at the garage for the winter.

As was mentioned earlier, this car, to me at least, a step forward in terms of equipment. The air conditioning works satisfactorily, although it is difficult to test if the outside is not hot. Electric windows, mirrors, cruise control, temp. meter and remote work fine.

What pleases me very well be the legion of storage options, eg. The cup holders.

The space inside is good to call and I'm much better than the Honda Civic. The seat is adjustable for a good seat. In the back there is less room for my feelings, but it will turn out next summer when word went on vacation.

Furthermore, the car has a nice appearance with alloy wheels. The exhaust is a chrome fixture that produces a nice sound. (not anti-social!)

Then the performance; although I have not tested the speed, I do have the impression that he needs to improve 177 KM p / h mn Honda despite 25 hp less. The couple is also fine as long as there are revolutions are made. Since Honda was still better.

Disadvantages over Honda VTEC are not really, other than consumption. Mazda keeps making speed and resulting in a consumption of one tank is 650 km (1 to 14 max) which is a step back in the tank.

- little slow start at low revs

Another half of this Mazda path, including a trip to Luxembourg in Siberian conditions! Winter has survived the car just fine. Always starts without a hitch. The air conditioner condenser has it gone, but it was also still original from the factory and 10 years old. Free BOVAG replaced under the warranty. The dampers for cracking, but that seems to do no harm. It also strikes me that the sheet metal of very good quality. There is no detect rust spot! That was the Honda Civic different.


Look forward to the summer break with this car. I wonder if I can get everything into the car.

First repair (108,400 km)

Mazda pleases me still excellent. Although he has less than my previous car and pip consumed (13 +/- 1)

The car's been 15 months and it works still excellent! All that had to be replaced the two wiper blades were (2 x € 12.5) and the right low beam (€ 0)

The latest update has been back in a while, so time for an update. All in all I am very satisfied with the car. I ride there with much less due to high petrol prices and when I drive, I take it easy. On the highway between the 90- and 100 km on the cruise wrong with this car still pretty. Basically I just need the car for private, work is cycling and healthier too.

Now about the car itself. The radiator was killed by the summer of 2011. This sounds worse than it felt in the pocketbook, but fortunately. Two weeks ago killed the heater module, it is replaced with a used one with which the damage was a few bucks. The electric window at the front passenger was also part. This proved to be just the button.

Soon the air conditioner leaving again look and the summer tires are under again. In July another MOT and a beurtje so than an update.

Next week I'm going on holiday to the South of France and there are more than 3,500 km on the schedule. Fortunately, the car came successfully through the MOT and there was nothing found in the beurtje.

From now on I'm going to keep up with consumption of this car. My style contains almost only highway mileage and the "New driving" and a maximum speed of 110 km at 3500 RPM. Usually I drive 100 km. I'm wondering how I can defeat the manufacturer of 1 / 13.3 average and 1 / 15,9 outside urban areas.

After summer 2012 (143.487 km)

Just returned from 12 days of sunshine in southern France. More than 3300 km back to the numerator and what experiences richer. The holiday I used to use the car to test. Each tank filled to the brim and carts only. Throughout the holidays I was able to beat the 13.3 average. It is noteworthy that from 110 km consumption increased sharply. The aircon I used almost constantly so would still gain some profit there.

Speaking of the air conditioning: it was the first time in three years that I was REALLY thrilled with it. The air conditioning was perfectly capable of temperatures cool off around 35-38. The air conditioner costs a noticeable power when accelerating. This is not pleasant when you have to go smoothly. The car was better off with more torque / horsepower.

The cruise control remains an ideal means to ride relaxed on the highways. Speed remains constant good and very responsive.

Unfortunately I have discovered two small problems with this car. The stabilizer rods wear out very fast. Due to the high temperature began to crack a behind. This happens very often, and although it is not a disaster (only at low speeds you can hear it) I see it as the Achilles heel of this car. Fortunately they are not very expensive and can not ruin my positive outlook on this very car. A second disadvantageous point the passenger seat. Unlike the driver's seat is not expanded to fit and makes for a painful sitting on longer journeys. For me as a driver not a problem, but a drawback.

Although I minimize drive the car, I will continue to update the consumption and review.

UPDATE: Great turn (153.000 km)

Another year further. Last week a major overhaul + MOT. Replacing brake disc / caliper, air filled, spark plugs and more small business. Fortunately, no major problems. € 500 to € 225 for parts and wpt. Still, more than expected, but it is actually seen through the over 4 years along with the repair costs.

Cars like still fine, though a slightly higher seat are nice. The plan is to drive by at least another year and then see if the cost is still technically profitable to drive this car.
Still going strong (181,000 km)

Almost two years a report. Too little to report, because the car is still fine. A move I drive now considerably more (90 km) per day, of which nearly everything is highway. Consumption is around 1/13. In May, he must weather for a major service and MOT. I wonder how much this is going to be. For myself, I have a limit of € 1200 in mind. After a check of the records I have in recent years ('12 -'14) just € 1,651 paid to maintenance of 46,000 km. That is € 0.035 per kilometer, not bad for a car that is already touching / on age.

The car also proves to be a great family car. Small 8 months fits with all his "gang" (crib, wagon, car seat, etc.) in fine.

In good condition (183 300 km)

Today I had the great turn and MOT because the move now with a new garage, so always exciting what she does not find or. and MOT tested again for a year! For me this maintenance time to determine if the car is economical to drive through. The answer is yes. The garage have indicated that in the short term (4000-5000 km), the distribute. belt had to be replaced and that the rear tires were also not everything. Only thing I still doubt the replacement of the heating motors: this will not work sufficiently, causing the car doors CV not work well at a distance. Replace it easily costs € 200-300. One even think about it.

Top 3 Benefits of this car:

- relatively luxurious car (surely built cc)
- compact yet spacious

top 3 disadvantages of this car :
- low seating
- crass terms of speed, little pit engine
- energy G is dark red.
Maintenance is up to date (188 800 km)

Because of the KM state it was time for a timing belt change. Equal let take the following:

2 x rear tire
2 x rear stabilizer bar (crackling with heat)

costs € 540. Car is now fully in terms of maintenance. Beginning in 2016, I'm going to orient myself on a successor.

In short: the past year, driven more than 22,000 and no painless to this car. MOT + small turn over, and no problems! It remains a very reliable car. Due to the family and the number of kilometers per year still looking for another car for the daily commute: it has become a volvo v50 d2! This means that the Mazda 2nd car is deployed (and therefore will not drive more)
