Several cars passed the review and I'm going to test drive: Toyota Auris hybrid drive, Subaru XV Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, Audi A3 saloon and the Peugeot 308SW. But none of those cars I had a 'click'. The Auris was more of the same as the Prius, the XV I thought 'swabbing', the Outlander is now on every street corner, the A3 was just not at all, and the 308 is really very boring.
I then several weeks no attention paid to the new car until I saw somewhere on the internet Cactus passing. I was hooked! What an incredibly fun and original car. I'm going to go into it, test drives viewed items on YouTube and forums. There me then immediately all fell on that one either loves it either Cactus terrible. There's nothing in between. In my circle of friends and colleagues, I noticed that.
After two test runs (actually after the first) I was final. This was going to be him. Precisely for the Airbumps good to come into their own, I did not want any dark / dark combination of paint and Airbumps. Yellow and black was banned by my daughter, because it seemed too much for a taxi they liked. Red had me a little too red and the blue, I did not like. What a disappointment ... (8.650 km)
Oh, what I'd like a positive follow-up to my first report, but alas ... The ETG-speed turns out to be a nightmare. In fits and starts you make your way through the traffic like a drunken horse with hiccups.
But first the positives.
I like the cactus still a great car to see. The design and decor gives cause for mirth and I get a lot of positive reactions. 1 acid cousin after (what a terrible car) actually find anyone I speak very successful car. If the Cactus runs once, it runs fine. Really bad it is when you drive slowly, so up to 20 km / h approximately. So if you drive out your neighborhood drives traffic or searching for a parking space. Then Cactus really has no idea what it is designed to do. Then bucking and jolting and emits like mad. Sometimes you give a little gas in and nothing happens. Give you something to gas, he shoots just with a bang ahead. It's really a disaster.
Nine days after I Cactus had been received, we went with them on holiday in the Auvergne. The three, bag and baggage plus roof box. Liège after the next setback came. I had the cruise control already for a while at 120 km / h and noticed a motorcyclist who drove many kilometers long in exactly the same distance behind me, suddenly came fast. In the meantime, I floored (literally the peddle to the metal) and remained the speedometer at 105. I can assure you that it's pretty embarrassing when you are overtaken by campers and cars with caravans.
France showed the ability of the ETG engine to be completely inadequate. Meanwhile, of course, we drove around without luggage and roof box around, but every hill or mountain was made with difficulty and constantly denotes switch back (and switches Cactus quickly back on) in order there to keep some momentum. My daughter noticed very wise to 'no wonder you see here little cacti because they are no mountain about.
Other negatives are:
• the touch screen. Often you have two, three times before pressing anywhere on the screen responds. I put standard after always start immediately the Start / Stop system and that never works at one time. The record is pressing six times before it went out.
• After only 5500 km was to see the first wear spot on the upholstery on the armrests in the door (driver).
• When did you even if there is a dent formed in the center armrest, because there is much on my arm. The used foam is very weak.
• Auto regenwisser is useless. Sometimes he did not know at hefty rain or he goes to extra-fast mode with a few drops.
I have extra long waited for this second report in the hope that the engine after a few thousand kilometers would perform better, but alas. It is now 8650 km on the clock (of which 5,500 in France) and I have noticed no improvement. The consumption disappoints me. After France was 1:14, now it is slightly improved. Now, it is 1: 15.3.
All in all I'm pretty disappointed in the Cactus and I would discourage anyone the ETG-bak strongly.
3 years and 9 months and then I get my new car. So that will count.
Nothing to do ... (12 855 km)
Did last week went to the dealer and a mechanic drove it. According to him, the bucking and jerking normal for a 3-cylinder ETG-bak. He was accustomed to worse.
